Going eco-friendly is the new way in which the automobile industry is headed and Derringer Cycles are making full use of customers’ intent to help the planet heal. When we talk about ‘hybrids’ it is often in regards to cars but in this case a bicycle has hogged the limelight by going hybrid. Apparently, the city of Los Angeles is going gaga over the new moto-hybrid bikes offered by Derringer and if you were to get your feet on these set of pedals then you too would be taken in.
The hybrid bikes are powered both by pedal power and also an engine that runs on gasoline to give it a mileage of 180 miles per gallon. That, of course, depends on how much you choose to pedal and what amount of time is spent in using the engine to get you across. But the simple and effective combination seems ideal for city commuting and LA is pretty happy with the deal that it is getting. The Derringer cycle was conceived by famed industrial designer Adrian Van Anz and carries a price of around $3500.
The bikes come in a variety of colors and styles and are custom built on your order. The colors vary from dashing red to the ‘Good Girl Pink’ and all of them look just right. The very retro styling along with cool color patterns and custom designs is enabling the bike to really do well in and around LA for now.
